ASDCSW and LFC to host LTAD in soccer session
Lethbridge, AB - The Alberta Sport Development Centre Southwest, in partnership with the Lethbridge Football Club (LFC), will be hosting a Long Term Athlete Development session on Thursday, October 6th at 7pm. The LTAD session will focus primarily on the sport of soccer, with guest speaker Sean Fleming presenting.
Sean is member of a group of soccer experts that participated in the development of the Soccer Canada Wellness to World Cup long-term player development model presently employed by Soccer Canada. As well, Sean is the head coach of the U17 National team and the Director of the National Training Center for the prairie region. His insight into incorporating Canada soccer into the Canada Sport 4 Life model and Long-term Athlete Development plan is extensive.
The session will touch on the importance of the Long-term Player Development model to Soccer Canada, the proper training phases for developing athletes and Sean’s experiences with the U17’s at the 2011 World Cup in Mexico. Local soccer star Matteo Pasquotti was a member of the U17 national team under Fleming.
