Congratulations to the AEP Athletes at the 2011 Western Canada Summer Games
The Alberta Sport Development Centre Southwest would like to recognize and congratulate a number of teams and individuals who had success in the Western Canada Summer Games. Team Alberta finished second in overall medal standings with 244 total medals including 53 gold medals.
We would like to recognize our Athlete Enhancement Program (AEP) athletes who competed and had success in their events. Congratulations to the following AEP Athletes: Jackson Bocksnick (Lethbridge) who earned Bronze in the 1500m. Ryan Tarnava (Lethbridge) earned a Silver medal in Hammer throw and another Silver medal in Shot Put. Leah Troskot (Lethbridge) did exceptionally well in the Games bringing herself home a Gold in the 400m Freestyle Relay and the 50m Freestyle Relay. To go along with her Gold medals she also earned a Silver medal in the 50m Freestyle, 100m Backstroke, 100m Freestyle, and 4X200m Relay. Zachary McAllister (Lethbridge) represented himself very well capturing four Silver medals in the 100m Backstroke, 100m Freestyle, 100m Breaststroke, and the 50m Freestyle. McAllister also earned a Bronze medal for his performance in the 200m IM. Team Alberta Soccer won a Gold medal going a perfect 3-0 in the tournament. Lethbridge product and AEP athlete Nico Pasquottie was a member of that Gold medal winning team.
ASDC would also like to congratulate all other Lethbridge athletes that competed and had success at the Games.
